“Meditation is to be aware of
what is going on – in our bodies,
in our feelings, in our minds,
and in the world.”
Thích Nhất Hạnh
My Take On Meditation
I have been practicing meditation for over ten years. My practice has been shaped primarily by Vipassana as taught by S. N. Goenka, the teachings of Thích Nhất Hạnh, and Mahayana Buddhist practice.
My focus is on reclaiming our sovereignty and expanding our autonomy by cultivating equanimity and developing our ability to be inquisitive and to see things clearly. It is less about changing external circumstances, which sometimes we can’t do much about, and more about working on our attitude towards them, and towards life.
There is no one method that fits everyone, but many methods and tools to explore meditation and discover what is effective and liberating for you—and, as a consequence, also beneficial to the people and the world around you.
Who Might Find This Useful
There is no need for previous experience or a particular understanding of Buddhism (or to have any plans to become a Buddhist). A session could be useful if:
- You want to understand what meditation is and why people practice it.
- You are curious about meditation and would like to give it a try.
- You want support in developing a sustainable personal practice that works for you.
- You already meditate and would like to reflect on or discuss your practice.
- You would like to explore different meditation practices and approaches from Buddhist traditions.
- You want to develop greater resilience during periods of change or uncertainty.
